Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching. I love this holiday because I enjoy cooking, seeing friends, and spending time with family. I’ve come to terms that being with the entire family on this actual Thanksgiving Day is not always possible due to careers and everyone living in different parts of the country. So, each year, who we are with and what we do seems to change. Thank goodness for FACETIME!
Much research has been devoted to the practice of gratitude. Simply put, when we convey and receive simple “thank you” messages, it’s a human way of acknowledging the good things life. And, as a wise person (my Mom) once told me, “Its hard to grumble when you are being grateful.”
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”Provberb
I am intentional about being thankful on a daily basis. It’s a habit that started in my teen years and it’s pretty well stayed with me. For me, the Thanksgiving holiday is a time to reset myself each year to be more mindful about giving of my time to others, and about being thankful for even the smallest of blessings on a daily basis.
If I have not told you, I appreciate the opportunity to know you through this monthly blog and newsletter. I appreciate you as a neighbor, friend or colleague. Thank you for positive messages and kind words. Thank you for offering suggestions and sharing ideas. Thank you for your phone calls. I enjoy sharing information and I hope you find this little blog useful and enjoyable. This human connection we have lifts me up and makes me happy.
Best wishes for a joyous Thanksgiving holiday and many blessings to come throughout this next year. Thank you!
